Dear #TXNL fans, group members and supporters, Wanna know how we keep our Facebook group spam free and you safe from hackers??????? I only ask because it is always strange to me when I see a new request to join, then go and scroll their page to see 1. are they a real person, 2. are they providing real content or engaging in real discussions, and 3. who do they know who's already connected... so many times I see spam filled pages of profiles who are obviously not engaged, and leave me wondering if they were created by a bot. How is it that so many of these obvious fakes have so many friends in common or already in the group? Well I'll tell you. In the early days of social media, a lot of us met in large groups and start up betas. Many of us have built valuable and lasting connections. But some of us, much like trying to be the popular kid in school, just couldn't grasp the concept of real engagement, value added influence and organic growth. So they started friending any and everybody. Well as a trusted member of every pioneering reputation network out there, and the founder of this one... I am here to tell you, we don't roll like that. So what to do if your social following has become a storehouse for hackers, spambots and people who would rather tag you to say nothing, than click like on your valuable content. Let me tell you... IT'S TIME TO CLEAN HOUSE!!!!!!!!!!! 1. Take it from someone with lots and lots of experience building CRM and marketing lists before the Internet; calling to get customers in the door; working the lease line; and teaching teams to grow client lists (not to mention knowing how to keep them once you get them)... hoarding names will not help you grow or make money. 2. If you are genuine and have a real concern for your audience, this is a must. Do not be the cause of one of your friends getting hacked because you don't keep a clean house. 3. Do not continue to perpetuate the myth of open networking. You can not engage with 3000 people and do other business, I don't care who you are. You can have that many followers, but don't act like you are engaging with all of them. 4. Most importantly if you have bought into the marketing tricks that you can grow your funnel online with an ad, gain 10k followers on Twitter and build your business on LinkedIn by being more spammy, opening your house to every Tom, Dick and Harry and then using that platform just to push a product or agenda, you will not experience long term success.
If all that I've said rubs you the wrong way and you can't hear any of it, no worries. I'm sure I already have or will eventually be deleting you from my friends list and you will be removed from this group if you abuse it. Genuine people want to have genuine results, not quick hits at the expense of the next sucker who will bite. Again, we are #TXNL, the network without walls... helping to improve communities, businesses and lifestyles one solution at a time. If you don't get social entrepreneurship maybe this is not the right group for you.
